Tuy nhiên, cố vấn thương mại Peter Navarro của Trump đã bác bỏ đề nghị này,y nói với Fox News: “Đây không phải là một cuộc đàm phán, đây là tình trạng khẩn cấp quốc gia dựa trên thâm hụt thương mại đã vượt khỏi tầm kiểm soát do gian lận “.

President Donald Trump’s auto tariffs could send the cost of a new car soaring. Fixing the car you already have will likely get more costly, too.
While specific price increases are uncertain, a sweeping 25% tariff on car parts could hike the cost of your auto repair bill. Tariffs are a tax on imported goods, and that price hike is often passed on to consumers in the form of higher sticker prices.
“Tariffs will most certainly cause higher costs in parts, which can constitute up to 40% or more of a repair bill,” said Skyler Chadwick, director of product consulting at Cox Automotive, an automotive services company.

It depends on what you need fixed and where you go in to get your car serviced. But some industry analysts warn that drivers could see costs jump as early as the coming weeks or months.

Because accidents involving new parts will see increased costs for repairs, insurance premiums will also likely rise due to tariffs.
But that may be farther into the future. Bob Passmore, department vice president of personal lines at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, expects consumers to see an impact on their insurance bill in 12 to 18 months at a minimum. That’s because increased prices have to hit claims costs, then be implemented after new rates are filed and approved.
